A friend who was sitting next to me heard the loud, pained grumbles and gurgles of my belly (which was exposed in a crop top) and asked with great concern, "Are you okay?" I immediately blushed and mumbled about being hungry, but she persisted, looking at my belly with a worried frown as she said, "Your stomach sounds really hungry." At that point, several other members of our study group had also noticed my noisy stomach and were all staring at me and my bared belly. If I recall correctly, I hadn't eaten much that day and my belly has the tendency to become very noisy when it's hungry. During one study session with a group of my classmates at the library, my stomach began to growl loudly. While this friend didn't announce my ticklishness to the rest of our group, she did often take the opportunity to gently tickle my belly whenever we were standing next to each other in future photos.ĭespite my willingness to show off my belly in crop tops, I have always been susceptible to extreme embarrassment whenever attention is drawn specifically to my belly. Embarrassed and not wanting to call attention to myself, I let her tickle my belly until the photo op was finished. Without moving her hand she teased, "Oh, is someone ticklish?" before lightly wiggling her fingers over my bare tummy for the duration of the photo. Although this often passed unnoticed by my friends, there was one occasion where my friend observed my slight intake of breath and twitch of my belly. Whenever this happened, my automatic reaction was always to flinch away in response to even the mere threat of being tickled. Of course throughout my time at university I took many photos with my friends, and there were plenty of times when I would be wearing a crop top and my friend would wrap an arm around my waist with their palm resting on my tummy for a photo. I have always been a ticklish person, and it didn't take long for one of my friends to discover this.
